Ryn Spiering is a stay-at-home-mom to her three children. When not supporting her children's many athletic and academic pursuits, Ryn divides her time between numerous volunteer commitments. She is currently serving as President for the Poinsettia Elementary PTA and as Vice President for the San Diego Southern California Road Runners, a youth cross-country and track program. Ryn is also a volunteer for City Stuff, a collaborative effort between Junior Achievement and the City of Carlsbad that teaches third grade students about their city, government planning, entrepreneurship, and journalism. Her most recent endeavor is as a member of the World Class Schools Committee, a group that in conjunction with the Carlsbad Education Foundation develops community awareness and fundraising programs to alleviate district-wide educational budget constraints.

In her youth, Ryn was a former State Champion Gymnast and Junior Olympic Diver. She attended Arizona State University where she enrolled in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. While attempting to finish school, Ryn’s entrepreneurial spirit steered her towards the business world a bit early and she perused a career in hospitality and tourism. She eventually became a business owner by buying and operating Crossroads Travel Agency in Scottsdale Arizona. Upon marrying her husband Scott, Ryn sold her company so that she could devote her time to starting a family and community service.
